Ghost Hunts

Are you brave enough to spend an evening in haunted venue?

Supernatural Tours has been running real ghost hunting events since 2006 in some of the most haunted venues across the UK.

Venues have included Tudor House Southampton, Fort Widley, The Jamaica inn, Landguard Fort, Arundel Jail, Rye Castle and many more.

We were the first company to run them at Felton House, The Brickworks, The Vaults in Southampton and many more.

During the event, you will get to use equipment and take part in experiments as seen on TV to discover if the venue really is haunted.

What happens on a Ghost Hunt?

Your event will begin with an introductory briefing, where we’ll introduce you to our team and explain the equipment you’ll have the opportunity to use throughout the evening. We’ll also explain the different experiments you can take part in, along with the important health and safety information you need to know before we begin.

Throughout the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to investigate different areas of the venue, using a variety of paranormal investigation techniques and equipment.

Usually, the investigation will begin with a large group experiment, giving everyone the chance to get involved and experience the investigation together. As the evening progresses, you’ll have opportunities to explore different areas and take part in a range of experiments and investigations.

What happens next?

As the event progresses, guests will be split into smaller groups. Don’t worry — if you have booked with friends or family, you will remain together in the same group.

Each group will be accompanied by one of our experienced team leaders and assigned to a particular area of the venue. At regular intervals, the groups will rotate between locations, giving you the opportunity to investigate different areas of the venue throughout the evening.

We aim to keep each session varied, with different experiments and investigation techniques being used as you move between areas. However, some experiments may be repeated during the evening. This allows us to revisit an experiment or location where something interesting has occurred and see whether we can replicate or further investigate any unusual activity.

Our team leaders will be there to guide you, explain the equipment and help you get involved, while allowing you to experience the investigation for yourself.

Experiments and Equipment

Each group will have access to a selection of paranormal investigation equipment, supplied in an investigation case. This may include K2 meters, dowsing rods, trigger objects and a variety of other equipment.

Depending on the venue and the investigation, experiments may include:

  • Seances and Victorian-style seances
  • Dowsing
  • EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena)
  • Trigger objects
  • Crystal experiments
  • Mediumship experiments
  • Table tipping
  • Glass divination
  • Ganzfeld experiments
  • White noise experiments
  • And a range of other paranormal investigation techniques

Breaks

The number and length of breaks will vary depending on the venue and the duration of the event.

For example, our Tudor House event runs from 8:00pm until midnight and includes one 30-minute break during the evening. Other venues may have frequent shorter breaks.

Breaks provide an opportunity to take a rest, use the facilities, grab a drink or simply take a moment before continuing with the investigation.

Wrap up

At the end of the investigation, all guests will come back together for a final group discussion. This is your opportunity to share your experiences, discuss anything unusual you may have witnessed or heard, and hear what other guests experienced during the evening.

Our hosts will then share the history of the venue, its reported hauntings and some of the well-known ghost stories and accounts associated with the location.

We deliberately leave this information until the end of the investigation, helping to ensure that what you experienced during the evening was not influenced by prior knowledge of the location or its reported paranormal activity.

Important points

  • What to Expect on Our Ghost Hunts
  • We aim to make every investigation as interactive and immersive as possible. However, paranormal activity can never be guaranteed. Every location and every investigation is different, and genuine paranormal experiences cannot be predicted or staged.
  • This is a genuine ghost-hunting experience. We do not use actors, theatrics, staged events or manufactured paranormal activity. What happens during the investigation is completely spontaneous.
  • The history comes afterwards. To help ensure that your experience is as unbiased as possible, our hosts will share the detailed history, reported hauntings and background of the location at the end of the investigation. This helps prevent prior knowledge from influencing what you experience during the investigation.
  • Our hosts are there to guide, not influence. Our experienced hosts will explain the equipment and experiments and help you get the most from your investigation. However, there are certain experiments, such as glass divination and table tipping, that our hosts will not participate in. This is intentional — if something unusual occurs, you can be confident that our hosts have not physically influenced the experiment.

Our aim is simple: to give you the opportunity to investigate reported paranormal activity, using a range of traditional and modern investigation techniques, while keeping the experience as genuine and unbiased as possible.
